What is StoryForge?

StoryForge (故事熔炉) is an open-source, local-first tool for narrative creation and experiences. Write fiction, adapt screenplays or comics, prepare motion-comic materials, build reusable worlds, and try world-based interactive products.

Start with your work

Longform, short fiction, screenplays, comics, and motion-comic materials have separate workbenches and outputs. Writing fiction does not require completing the world engine first; adaptations do not take ownership of the source work.

Choose a product to find the right entry.

The author decides what becomes final

AI supports generation, analysis, and review. Outputs usually become candidates first. You can edit, reject, or confirm them; literary judgments and factual interpretations still need review.

What local-first means

Core works are stored in your current browser. Export backups or synchronize a disk workspace with explicit author confirmation. When using cloud models, the content required by a task is sent to your configured provider.

Local-first does not mean automatic cloud backup, or that cloud models work fully offline.

Current maturity

The catalog marks six products as released: longform, short fiction, screenplays, comics, motion-comic materials, and the world engine. Node authoring and interactive products are previews; some text-game interfaces remain in development.

Use current capabilities to choose a workflow. An implemented engineering path does not automatically guarantee literary quality or a commercial-ready result.
