Novel to screenplay
Adapt an existing novel for film, television, or short drama. Entry: Screenplay → My screenplays → New adaptation (剧本 → 我的剧本 → 新建剧本改编). The screenplay and source work are stored separately.
Create and freeze the source
Select all or selected chapters of a local novel, paste source text, or upload TXT, Markdown, DOCX, or PDF accepted by the UI. Inspect extracted text, choose screenplay type, episode count, and duration, then click Freeze source and create screenplay (冻结来源并创建剧本).
Freezing fixes the source used by this adaptation. Later source-novel edits do not automatically rewrite the screenplay.
From source to scenes
- Source: check scope, facts, and causal evidence.
- Adaptation goals: define audience, format, and alteration boundaries; review adaptation decisions.
- Structure and beats: arrange events, turns, and dramatic rhythm.
- Scene list: check purpose, characters, time, location, and continuity.
- Screenplay editor: edit structured scenes, action, and dialogue.
- Source consistency: check the adaptation's relationship to its source.
- Dramatic review: inspect conflict, pacing, and scene effectiveness; revise specific problems.
- Versions and export: pass checks, freeze a version, and export.
Adaptation choices
Record character mergers, plot cuts, or externalized inner monologue as explicit decisions. Consider both preservation of important source information and whether new scenes communicate through action and dialogue.
Locked scenes or scenes whose version changed cannot directly accept old revisions. Check the current scene first and follow the UI guidance.
Outputs and boundaries
Supports Fountain, FDX, and printing. Saving PDF through print depends on browser options. For complete project backups, see Backup and recovery.
This is a screenplay-adaptation workflow, not filming, editing, or finished-film production. Screenplays do not offer world derivation.
