StoryForge Knowledge Base

Features, workflows, Prompt assets, changelog, and feedback.

StoryForge is an open-source, local-first tool for narrative creation and experiences. Write fiction, adapt screenplays and comics, prepare motion-comic materials, or build worlds and explore interactive products.

These guides were checked against main on October 4, 2026. Tagged releases and live deployments may differ. See current capabilities and version compatibility.

Getting started

  1. Choose a product for your intended output.
  2. Open the app and try a small project with the quick start.
  3. Configure a model when you need AI, confirm candidates, and keep your first backup.

You do not need the world engine before writing fiction. Start manually or try built-in works without an API.

Prompts and creative methods

Read how to use Prompts, then explore the fiction and motion-comic Prompt library. Method assets are documented separately from implemented app features.

Changes and feedback

The changelog covers independent creation, world versions, redesigned workbenches, and official documentation feedback by main-branch milestone.

Submit a bug report, feature request, or documentation correction. Include your version and reproduction steps, but remove keys and private manuscripts.

Historical WPS overviews and earlier updates remain in the archive for reference.
